释义 Who Wants to be a Millionaire? ˌWho Wants to be a Millionˈaire? trademark   A television game show that was first broadcast in the UK in 1998 and now has local versions in many countries. The British version is presented by Chris Tarrant and has a top prize of one million pounds. Contestants have to answer a series of multiple-choice questions that become more difficult as the prize money increases. Contestants have three lifelines which can be used if they are not sure of an answer. If they choose Fifty-Fifty, two of the incorrect answer choices are taken away. They can Ask The Audience. This means that each member of the studio audience chooses an answer choice and the results are shown to the contestant. The contestant can also telephone a friend to ask for help.
