Welles, Orson Orson WellesWelles, Or·son /welz, ˈɔːsən $ ˈɔːr-/ (1915–85) a US actor, film director, producer, and writer, known especially for the film Citizen Kane (1941), thought by many people to be one of the greatest films ever made, and for his radio play The War of the Worlds, which in 1938 made thousands of people in the US believe that the Earth was really being attacked by creatures from Mars.
