Telford, Thomas Thomas TelfordTel·ford, Thomas /ˈtelfəd $ -fərd/ (1757–1834) a Scottish architect and engineer, known for building bridges, roads, and canals. Some of his bridges are still used today, including the road bridge across the Menai Straits in North Wales.
