Obama, Barack Barack ObamaO·ba·ma, Bar·ack /əʊˈbɑːmə, ˈbæræk $ oʊ-/ (1961-) a US politician in the Democratic Party who became US president in 2009. He was relected in 2013 after defeating Republican candidate Mitt Romney in the election. He is the first African American to be US president.
