Louis XIV Lou·is XIV /ˌluːi ðə fɔːˈtiːnθ $ -fɔːr-/ (1638–1715) the King of France from 1643 to 1715. He was the called the ‘Sun King’ and his court at Versailles was known for being very beautiful and expensively decorated.
