Howdy Doody How·dy Doo·dy /ˌhaʊdi ˈduːdi/ the main character of a US television programme for children called ‘The Howdy Doody Show’, which was especially popular during the 1950s. Howdy Doody was a puppet with red hair, who was dressed like a cowboy.
